I don't remember whether I announce on the 430 list or not, but we 
are working on a embedded message passing RTOS called eMOS. The 
initial port is for the AVR, but I expect to follow it with a MSP430 
port very soon afterward. It has a preemptive, priority round robin 
kernel and the message passing scheme has some advantages over the 
traditional mailboxes etc. There are hooks to things like the system 
idle loop so you can put the system in very low power mode.

the content is applicable to the MSP430 users as well.

Let me know if you are interested in eMOS beta testing for the 430. 
The more interest expressed, the sooner the port :-)
